Nah. Coming up with a semi-decent rhyme was problematic (honestly, wtf rhymes with "armament"?), but it wasn't that line.

Great chapter especially the fact that I had White Riot stuck in my head for the last two weeks.

Ah yes. Indeed long live revolution rock.

While I loved it, I have to comment on one thing. I got a slight twinge of Star Wars prequel. The line "lets wear racing jackets rather than traditional Bosozoku uniforms.", is a little misplaced considering the first time we see the majority of the gang they are indeed wearing said uniforms. Of course beside the obvious prequel reasoning you could always write it off as being Hideomi's fault. His generation was considered corrupt and thus strayed from the original ideals. You could also say I'm looking into it too much!

ANYWAY! The garment thing was great. I can't really think of too many words that rhyme with Armament either. I'd say that was solid choice.

It most probably is just Hideomi's fault. He himself never wears a racing jacket either, and during his reign, in Crows Zero, Bandou and co. all wear racing jackets (though whether or not you can count that is up for discussion). That Yamazaki and Senda don't wear them at the start of Crows can most likely be accounted for by the fact that, at that time, they're representing Suzuran and not the Armament.

Not to mention! In one of the Crows Gaiden volumes, we see the head of the 2nd generation, who also wears a racing jacket. And even in the 3rd, the main guys, excluding Hideomi, all wear racing jackets. It's just the grunts that wear the tokkoufuku.

He (probably Monta) says they should drop the "tokkoufuku", which was translated into "bosozoku outfit." According to Deep Tho--I mean Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B%C5%8Ds%C5%8Dzoku ,

"The typical bōsōzoku member is often depicted in a uniform consisting of a jumpsuit like those worn by manual laborers or a tokko-fuku (特攻服), a type of military issued overcoat with kanji slogans usually worn open with no shirt underneath showing off their bandaged torsos and baggy matching pants tucked inside tall boots."

The tokkofuku, mentioned in Worst, is something other than the jumpsuits worn by all the 3rd generation grunts. I suppose the translation is more ambiguous than it should have been if it sparked this kind of discussion, for the sake of not just putting in "let's drop the tokkofuku." It's easily fixed for an eventual tank version though. *edits the word document*

Yeah, I was gonna mention them as well.

Also, and probably not considered canon either, but in the CZ manga everyone shown from The Front are wearing leather/bomber jackets in lieu of tokkoufuku.

Good point. I'm sure Keizou when he started out never would have fathomed an army of grunts would follow, anyway. So it stands that racing jackets (and individuality) were the norm until Hideomi came in.

Ah there ya go, that makes sense.

Not that this has any direct relation, but I always thought it was cool that Hirano Kunimasa still adhered to the old school style. I think (as far as Worst is concerned) that's the only time we really see them.

Ah the joys of retconning and prequels. In addition, not only was the original 3rd TFOA flag kinda lame, they didn't wear skulls on their backs until the 4th.

Like I've said elsewhere they retconned/explained that in CZ with Bandou and they also retconned the 3rd logo with the 1st Ryuushin figure (first instance where a 3rd character was wearing a skull) FUN Bandou figure (the first instance where a 3rd character was sporting what's become to be known as the 3rd logo) and the 3rd Repair T-shirt (the first time said logo was used).

Image

Although technically that was a 4th logo that they later retconned to be a 3rd logo via t-shirt and figure.
